One more time for 1982 with an extensive chunk of ‘82 OTE in which nuclear angst and C. Elliot Friday are explored, as well as an on-air simulcast call to another station’s talk show, the Brian Eno interview on KPFA concludes with a tape collage made out of Eno’s thoughts on the creative impact of tape on composition, the progress of Rap and Hip Hop culture, the Kraftwerk influence and the impression made on white music, plus ‘82 DJs, music, and receptacle input from listeners.

We begin radio in 1982 with some tapes from very early OTE shows, including members of early show participants, Fake Stone Age and King’s House. Then on to the emergence of personal computers with Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows explaining the technology, plus early video game playing from ’82. Laurie Anderson at the record release party for “Oh Superman,” the National Lampoon, Imus parodies, Stern’s Fart Man, and more songs of the year.
